Overview

Summary

Oxford Metrics began in healthcare in 1984, measuring how people move. Vicon’s cameras and software later found work in film, games, engineering and robotics. The Oxford-based group has been listed on AIM since 2001.

Today it has two main activities. Vicon records movement using optical cameras and software, with both marker-based and newer markerless approaches. Industrial Vision and Metrology Systems, or IVMS, combines machine vision and measurement equipment for quality control. Customers pay for hardware, software, projects and support. The group wants a larger share of repeatable products and recurring software income.
