Motor manufacturing and a broader automation business

The investment case
Factories need equipment that can make new products reliably and at scale. Aumann’s opportunity is to apply its winding and automation experience across more industries, while retaining its position in electric-motor manufacturing.
Evidence of progress
H1 2026 revenue fell 34.8% to €70.6m as automotive investment weakened. Next Automation orders grew 72.1%, but total orders still declined 27.3%. The newer business is helping, yet has not fully offset the slowdown in e-mobility.
What drives demand
Future orders depend on manufacturers approving new production lines and upgrades. Demand for electric vehicles alone is therefore an incomplete guide: customers’ existing capacity and investment timing also matter.
Profit and cash generation
Aumann remained profitable, with H1 2026 operating profit of €4.4m and operating cash flow of €7.3m. June bank cash was €143.5m, excluding securities, against €3.7m of bank debt and leases. Planned shareholder distributions and operating needs must also be considered when assessing that cash.
What the valuation assumes
A large cash balance is relevant, but it does not settle the value of the operating business. Order intake, project profitability and cash returned to shareholders all affect the picture.
What would weaken the case
- Weak automotive investment can reduce orders before it affects reported revenue.
- Custom production projects carry delivery, cost and execution risks.
- Expansion into other industries may take time and may not offset the decline in e-mobility.
