SECO refinances €90m of debt with a €115m facility
The edge-computing supplier refinanced a bullet maturity about a year early and added capacity for investment, although the release omits the new facility’s price and maturity.
SECO supplies computers and software that put data processing and AI inside industrial equipment. It has refinanced about €90m of debt outstanding at 30 September, roughly one year before the bullet portion of its 2021 acquisition loan was due. A bullet loan leaves a large principal repayment until maturity, so completing the replacement early reduces a visible refinancing deadline.
The new bank facilities total €115m and include a dedicated capital-expenditure line for organic investment and acquisitions. The €115m headline is not the same as €115m of new cash: it includes capacity used to refinance existing debt, and the announcement does not say how much is immediately drawn. It also omits the interest margin, final maturity, covenants and the exact split between refinancing and investment capacity.
SECO says gross financial debt has fallen from about €150m in October 2021 to about €90m in October 2026 after €60m of medium- and long-term repayments. It also says net financial debt to EBITDA declined from more than 3 times to about 1 time. Those are management figures in the refinancing release rather than a new set of audited results, but they help explain why a six-bank syndicate agreed the replacement financing.
The transaction gives SECO more room to invest without facing the old bullet maturity first. It does not by itself show that an acquisition will happen or that returns on new investment will exceed the cost of debt. The board is scheduled to approve nine-month results on 9 November. That update should provide the next check on operating profit, cash generation and the balance sheet after the refinancing.
